When do our debating meetings happen?

The NAISR Debating Club meets every Tuesday in Room 284, running from 15:30 to 17:30. To keep energy levels high during our two-hour sessions, students are encouraged to bring their own snacks to share while we dive into the week’s agenda.

Each session begins with a brief administrative period where members complete their tasks for the week, followed by an address from our Chairperson. Once the house is in order, a student is selected to choose the motion of the day, setting the stage for the afternoon’s clash of ideas.

The core of our meeting is dedicated to active growth and refinement. While the adjudicator provides immediate feedback on the round, our teacher coaches the group on specific content, strategy, and style. We conclude by studying high-level debating examples to ensure we are constantly learning from the best in the field.
